Overdryve 8 Pro II - Delete a POI File

This unit came with a “LOW GROUND CLEARANCE RR CROSSINGS” POI file factory installed. I don’t want it and would like to delete it, but cannot figure out how to do it. It constantly announces these crossings, even when they are not my route.

HELP!

I'm not familiar with Rand McNally devices but according to their store this is a truck GPS. That feature, geared for commercial vehicles, likely cannot be removed as it would be part of the map itself and truckers would need to know that information. Can it be shut off? I don't know, but would hazard a guess the answer will be "no".

You'll have to play around with the unit and see if there is an option somewhere in the interface to disable it. Otherwise you'll just have to deal.

Naturally, if anyone out there actually is familiar with these devices feel free to correct the assumptions given above.

You are correct, this is a

You are correct, this is a trucker's GPS. I use it in a 40-foot motor home.

What is most annoying about this particular file/warning is that it warns of railroad crossings that are nearby, but not on my planned route. As an example, I was coming into the west side of Lima, Ohio yesterday on Ohio Route 309. There is a railroad that runs parallel to 309, and there are numerous side roads that cross those tracks. The GPS was constantly warning me about those crossings, however my route through town was on Route 309. I did not have to cross ANY of those crossings.

Very annoying...

I know nothing about Rand McNally, but it might be possible that this is acting the way it is, so that the truck driver doesn't get himself in a situation, where he would have to back an 18 wheeler out of a tricky situation, if he proceeded? This is just a wild guess.
I think you're best to contact Rand McNally about this.

mcnally

those can turn on/off in the settings and virtual dashboard "truck tools" app
there is "only on route" checkbox
there is height settings and length settings so it only dings when you don't fit
all the good stuff, just really tedious to click through to
