March is ...

As some of you know, I have stage 4 colon cancer, BUT, it's currently in remission, after a bunch of chemo, thanks to having had a colonoscopy.

It doesn't matter how you feel, or how old you are, a colon screening can save your life. It saved me and put me on the path of recovery for sure.

60% of colon cancer deaths could be prevented with regular screenings.

Windows 11 24H2

Windows 11 version 24H2 will be the first build to no longer boot on CPUs that do not comply with the POPCNT (population count) instruction.

POPCNT was added in SSE4.2 on Intel CPUs and SSE4a on AMD CPUs.

This will effect anyone that did a work around Win 11 install on pre 2007/2008 CPUs.

I don't want to brag... (scammy spammy)

I don't want to brag, but I am one lucky guy.

I just got an email from "Costco Department" with the subject "You HaveWON_an Swiffer Wetjet!"

This right after getting one from "WalmartCustomerSupport": "You're the Exclusive Recipient of Bose Wireless Headphones!"

Can you believe it! Two great prizes in two days.

What Are Your Favorite GPS Apps While At Sea?

A group of us are currently on the Odyssey of the Sea.

What are some interesting websites or smartphone apps to use while at sea?

I have used CruiseMapper. It is handy because it shows other cruise ships near us. For example, our position a bit ago was 16.024114 N 72.398194 W.Cruise Mapper showed a nearby cruise ship the Celebrity Reflection.

health care / pharmacy plans

We switched to my wife's health care 1/1/23, thank goodness.

Not only did it save me about $850/mo because of the health plan plus FSA to cover the deductibles, but the new plan has a $0 deductible and about $400/mo less through her employer.
