Flat tires that take 3 weeks to replace under road hazard warranty, DRL's burning out where a human hand can't fit behind it to replace it ($7 H8 bulb), and power window switches that break. There is a flip side to driving cars and keeping them 20 years.

Did something really dumb, I was testing the new DRL with lights on, despite the 25,000 volt electrocution warning. Sometimes we need to slow down and actually heed such warnings.

as I am, I still find myself in scenarios I've never been in, weekly.

One I told my buddy about yesterday, and I said does this only happen to me, or, am I the only one who vocalizes it? Well that was rated R so next scenario....

I had gotten a $6.99/lb t-bone steak rain check, for 4 packs (they are individually vacuum sealed at Giant). We went on vacation so when we got back probably had a week to use it, as it expires in 30 days. I let it expire for whatever reason. Maybe freezer space, maybe didn't think of it in time.

It's such a good deal, and I swear for the year of 2023, I think steaks went on sale only a handful of times and at higher than that. So I decided let me just go to the store and ask if they can make an exception.

The counter person said this has expired, so I can write you a new one. Didn't know it was that easy, and never used a rain check in probably 20 years. But it's a good concept--when there is a compelling sale and the shelves are bare, a rain check let's you get the item at the great price, when things have calmed down. Also, it's like a futures contract, you can buy at a price that doesn't exist anymore. Sounds outdated, but imho a great concept for the consumer. jmoymmv
